Pupil Voice is really important to us at Carlisle Infant School We believe all pupils should have the opportunity to share their pupil voice. We do this in a number of ways:

• We have a school council made up of 9 pupils from Y2. At the start of the academic year pupils wishing to be a school councillor make a presentation to their class and then teachers and pupils vote for their choice of candidates. 

• At the start of each topic the children have a say in the aspects of each topic they would like to learn about. They talk about what they know already, they questions they would like to find the answers to and any particular areas of interest they have.

• Subject coordinators talk to a sample group of pupils regularly to find out their views on particular aspects of their subject. Governors also come into school and meet with pupils to seek their views on particular themes such as behaviour and healthy living.

• The Headteacher meets regularly with small groups of pupils to seek their views on key school issues such as playtimes, behaviour, after school activities and curriculum enrichment ideas.
